The exhibition presenting a selection of works from the project Whose Body Is My Body? at Xcenter is the second project within the Galerija Škuc programme dedicated to expanding and sharing parts of its curatorial and exhibition programme with cultural institutions and audiences throughout Slovenia. The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between Galerija Škuc and Xcenter in Nova Gorica and continues the gallery’s commitment to decentralising contemporary artistic production and strengthening dialogue between diverse cultural environments across the country.

The original exhibition Whose Body Is My Body?, presented at Galerija Škuc, was conceived as a joint project of Galerija Škuc and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana (UL ALUO). The project was developed by Assistant Professor Emina Djukić, mentor of the Photography V course at the Department of Visual Communication Design, and Assistant Professor Maja Smrekar, mentor of the Sculpture V course at the Department of Sculpture.

The original installation at Galerija Škuc included six artworks created collaboratively by fifteen students. For its presentation at Xcenter in Nova Gorica, an additional curatorial selection was prepared, resulting in an adapted exhibition layout featuring four works by ten students. The new selection took into account the specific spatial context of Xcenter.
