Urška Aplinc works as a producer and curator. She is currently the Artistic Programme Manager at Kino Šiška for the fields of visual and audio-visual arts and intermedia, and between 2019 and 2022 she was self-employed in culture as a curator and sculptor. In 2021, she received her master’s degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana (ALUO), where she received three ALUO awards for her work. In 2018, she graduated from the World of Art School at SCCA-Ljubljana, and in the same year she became a professional collaborator at the Museum and Galleries of the City of Ljubljana. From 2019 to 2022, she was part of the collective of the DobraVaga Gallery, where she worked as a programme coordinator and curator, and from 2020 to 2022 she led the programme of cultural and artistic education at Kino Šiška. She has curated several solo and group exhibitions, including at the Škuc Gallery, the Simulaker Gallery, the DobraVaga Gallery, the Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture and the KULA Gallery in Belgrade. As part of her artistic practice, she has participated in several exhibitions and festivals at home and abroad, including at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, the Škuc Gallery, Cirkulacija2, the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Celje and the Metelkova Museum of Contemporary Art.
